The event, which saw the Royal Institute of British Architects and the BBC partner to give the public the opportunity to vote for their favourite new building, was a celebration of architecture hosted by local weatherman Richard Angwin who spoke passionately on the evening's theme of climate change and the built environment.

RIBA's Head of Southwest, Jon Watkins, said "it was a great evening and wonderful to see architects and clients rewarded for enhancing the built environment of the region".  "We heard passionate speeches about sustainability and the importance of reflecting the locality in architecture - but the atmosphere was one of celebration".
