CABE

CABE, the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, is the government's advisor on architecture, urban design and public space.

CABE works directly with architects, planners, designers, developers and clients, offering them guidance on projects that will shape lives.. Fundamentally, CABE works on behalf of the public.

CABE was set up in 1999 and it is now a statutory body, funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Department for Communities and Local Government.

CABE's website holds useful publications, guidance for clients information about Design Review and it's enabling services. CABE support the Architecture Centre through their Regional Funding Programme.

CABE Space is the part of CABE aiming to bring excellence to the design and management of public spaces in our towns and cities

CABE space also works with local authorities and other national, regional and local bodies involved with the delivery of parks and public spaces in the public, private and voluntary sector to help them think holistically about the value and benefits of well planned, designed, managed and maintained parks and public space.

The work of CABE space  is guided by the CABE Space advisory committee and the strategic partners are Groundwork, GreenSpaceLandscape Institute, and Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management.
