NCDC Redundancy Support Information Booklet

Have you been affected by redundancy? The NCDC Redundancy Support Information Booklet has been compiled by NCDC and partner organisations working together for the benefit of local people to provide a comprehensive range of information and services to the community in times of need and ensure that help is available to everyone affected by redundancy.

Clearly, no booklet can provide all the answers, nor can it on its own allay fears and anxieties of people facing an uncertain future. It does however provide the contact details of organisations that can help together with a brief summary of the types of services available.

Please also remember that whilst every effort has been made to ensure the contents are correct when going to press, changes in regulations may make the booklet become gradually less accurate. Always check details with the specialist agencies. A list of website addresses and telephone numbers for all the organisations mentioned in this booklet, and other useful contacts, can be found at the back of the booklet

Public Invited To Suggest Sites For Potential Development

North Cornwall District Council is now providing the opportunity for people to suggest potential development sites that might be suitable for a housing scheme of 5 or more dwellings.

The Methodology and site forms for the SHLAA process are available to view and download from the Council's website

One form should be completed for each site, however if not all information on a site is known, any details would be welcomed. Each form must however be accompanied by a map with the site clearly marked on it. The Council will not be able to include a site in the Assessment without this information.

The Council recommends that you read the methodology before completing a form.

Completed forms should be returned to the Council by Friday 30th January 2009, at the following address:

Paul Webber, North Cornwall District Council, 3-5 Barn Lane, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL31 1LZ

The survey will run from 1st Dec 2008 to 28th February 2009 - please use this link to access the survey.

The survey is designed to aid the development of an Action Plan that NCDC is producing following the declaration of an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) in July 2008. The AQMA includes the centre of Bodmin and along the length of Dennison Road

Paper copies are available on request by telephoning 01208 893518 or by writing: Council Offices, Trevanion Road, Wadebridge PL27 7NU.

Contacting Customer Services by telephone

At present there is a very high demand for our housing benefit, council tax benefit and council tax departments and we know that customers are having difficulty getting through to us on the phone.  Our busiest day is Monday and our busiest time daily is 12 pm to 1 pm.  Our quieter times are in the afternoons mid-week.  So, if you are able, please ring in our quieter times to save having to hang on and be charged for a longer call.

If you do have the use of a computer you can e-mail your query to us using this link or you can have a look at the benefits pages or the council tax pages of our website.
